Offer
Ever had a proper hunter's stew? No, you have not, because nobody's made one in this kitchen since my arm went bad. Three bowls is all I ask, made at the stove by someone with two good hands. The Huntmaster's been eating bread and grief for a week. Man needs gravy.
While in progress
Meat, roots, salt, patience. Mostly patience. You can't hurry a stew; it knows. Garlic and Mountain Sage are sold at the General Goods stall in the Lodge market, so buy them there. (Mountain Sage also grows wild on the high mountain slopes far to the east, a very long walk away, and picking it needs Alchemy 35.) Raw meat drops from the beasts in the woods. Cooking is trained by cooking: grill some meat at the stove (Cooking 0), then boar roast and herb bread, and you will reach Cooking 15, which the stew needs.
On completion
Smell that. That's a stew that's lived. Garrow'll eat two bowls and pretend he only had one. Here, for your trouble, and a tip: a full belly mends quicker than any potion.
